Lyle J. Bouck Jr.Enlisted: Dec 23 1940 - St. Louis, Missouri, United States
Lyle J. Bouck Jr. was born in Fenton, Missouri, United States, and served as a U.S. Army officer during World War II. At the age of 20, he led an 18 man Intelligence and Reconnaissance platoon that famously delayed a German battalion of more than 500 soldiers for nearly a full day near Lanzerath, Belgium, during the opening of the Battle of the Bulge. His actions, carried out while heavily outnumbered, were later recognized as having significant tactical impact, and he was eventually awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
